Sometimes, when you join a webinar room, you may see a spinning circle (in Blue/Teal color). The following conditions apply here. Appropriate fixes/resolutions should be attempted as guided below.
What causes the spinning circle?
There can be a few reasons for this.
- As soon as you join the webinar room/event, you may see the following dialog box within a few seconds (see below). This dialog box must be accepted in order to see the screen sharing/slides and other media modules. You may still hear audio while the spinning circle exists (in some cases, you may not hear audio as well).
Why do you see this Dialog box?
This is a default security standard applied to all browsers to deal with WebRTC (the new technology we use) permissions and security. We cannot prevent or bypass it as it is a global standard.
If you miss this dialogbox (as it may close automatically after few moments in Chrome for example), you only see the spinning circle with/without audio.dialog box
- What if this does not show up or you missed it?
- Reload the page
- What if this dialog box does not show up at all?
- Use the incognito mode/private browsing in your browser, log in again, and see if it works. If it doesn't,
- Clear browser cache/cookies

- If none of these methods work, you may have a problem with your connection. If you are using a VPN/Firewall, it could be the most likely case. If the connection is slower than expected, you may exeprience similar issues but it is not the prominent case here. You can turn off VPN or add an exception to the firewall to prevent the issue. Remote workers/work-from-home users have experienced this issue. See the instructions below to find out how to find it and fix it.
Network Diagnostics
To find out if something is blocking your connection, use the following tools.
- Run this diagnostic test: https://webrtccheck.flowapp.com/ (refer to the guide for troubleshooting)
- Network Speed test: https://diag.flowapp.com/speedtest/
- If you see any issues with the first test, and if you are using a work/company internet or a network that may be behind a VPN, please follow the guide below.
- If you are a home user, simply turn the VPN off.
Note: If you are from a country like China, you may need to do the opposite (turning the VPN on).
